This is sometimes how I try and figure out if I have a tiny wasp or a tiny bee - bees will always have forked hairs somewhere on their body, while wasps only have straight, simple hairs. stack of 94 photos taken with a 4x microscope objective
This is an interesting size comparison between the large (~30 mm) flower wasp and the tiny Encyrtidae (Chalcidoidea) parasitoid wasp that emerged from a cocoon on some fennel. I took photos of them both at the same time, and decided to put one on the other!
