Found on his last legs out the front of a bunch of cultivated bush bee hives stack of 44 photos
Found in Fairfield, Brisbane 21/10/2014 on a Melaleuca linariifolia
During early October, there was a tree flowering outside my house (Melaleuca linariifolia). Over a period of a few days, I managed to catch ~36 different native bee species on that one flowering tree, that is not including the multitudes of flies, beetles, true bugs and other insect species I saw and caught! If you are thinking of getting a flowering tree in your garden, why not consider a native? Bee Aware Brisbane (www.facebook.com/pages/Bee-Aware-Brisbane/107974596042728) asked if I could put this photo together, and while it took a few weeks, here it is!! Size varies from 3mm to 15mm. Some of these individuals may be M & F of the same species
